Connect Other Devices Through Apple Health
Aeros connects directly to Apple Health and Garmin Connect — but that doesn't mean other devices are left out. On iPhone, Apple Health acts as a bridge: almost every major training watch and fitness app can write workouts into Apple Health, and Aeros reads them from there automatically.
Set it up once and workouts recorded on your Coros, Polar, Suunto, Wahoo, or favorite training app will flow into Aeros just like a native integration.
How it works
The general setup is always the same three steps:
- 1
Install your device's companion app
Install it on your iPhone (e.g. the COROS app, Polar Flow, the Suunto app) and make sure your watch is paired and syncing to it.
- 2
Turn on Apple Health syncing inside that app
Every brand buries this in a slightly different menu — exact paths are below. iOS will prompt you to grant the app permission to write Workouts to Health. Allow it.
- 3
Connect Apple Health to Aeros
In Aeros, go to Settings > Connected Devices (or the Connect Your Device step during onboarding), choose Apple Health, and allow all requested permissions — especially Workouts, Heart Rate, and Distance.
After setup, finish a workout on your device, let it sync to its companion app, and it will appear in Aeros the next time you open the app.
Setup by brand
Find your device or app below. Menu paths can shift as apps update, but the Apple Health toggle is always in there somewhere.
Coros
- Open the COROS app.
- Go to Profile > Settings > 3rd Party Apps.
- Select Apple Health and toggle it on.
- When iOS prompts, allow COROS to write Workouts to Health.
Polar
- Open the Polar Flow app.
- Go to Menu > General Settings.
- Toggle on Apple Health.
- Allow the requested Health permissions when prompted.
Suunto
- Open the Suunto app.
- Go to Profile > Connect other services (or Partner services).
- Select Apple Health and enable it.
- Grant the Health write permissions when iOS prompts.
Wahoo
- Open the Wahoo (ELEMNT / Wahoo Fitness) app.
- Go to Profile > Linked Accounts (or Settings > Sharing).
- Enable Apple Health / Health app.
- Allow Workouts write access when prompted.
Fitbit
Fitbit doesn't sync workouts to Apple Health natively. You'll need a third-party bridge app from the App Store to move workouts into Apple Health — they work for many athletes, but results vary.
Whoop
- Open the WHOOP app.
- Go to More > App Settings > Integrations.
- Enable Apple Health and grant permissions.
WHOOP writes the workouts and activities it detects; recovery-style metrics may not transfer as workouts.
Oura
- Open the Oura app.
- Go to the menu > Settings > Apple Health.
- Enable sharing and grant permissions.
Oura primarily contributes sleep and heart-rate wellness data; workouts only sync if recorded in Oura.
Peloton
- Open the Peloton app.
- Go to Profile > Settings > Health App.
- Toggle on workout syncing and grant permissions.
Zwift
- Open the Zwift companion or main app on iPhone.
- Go to Settings > Connections > Apple Health.
- Enable it and grant Workout permissions.
Nike Run Club
- Open the Nike Run Club app.
- Go to Profile > Settings > Partners > Apple Health.
- Enable syncing and grant permissions.
Strava (recording with the Strava app)
If you record workouts with the Strava phone app, enable Settings > Applications, Services and Devices > Health app inside Strava so runs are written to Apple Health — Aeros will pick them up from there.
Verify it's working
Record a short test workout
A few minutes on your device or app is plenty.
Check the Health app
Open the iPhone Health app > Browse > Activity > Workouts. The workout should appear there, attributed to the companion app.
Open Aeros
Apple Health syncs when the app opens — the workout should appear and match against your planned session.
If the workout appears in the Health app but not in Aeros, check that Aeros has permission to read Workouts: iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Aeros > enable all categories.
Troubleshooting
Workout never appears in the Health app
The problem is between your device and its companion app. Confirm the watch synced to the companion app first, then confirm the companion app's Apple Health toggle is on.
Workout is in Health but not in Aeros
Re-check Aeros' Health read permissions (iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Aeros), then pull to refresh or reopen Aeros.
Duplicate workouts
Make sure only one source is active in Aeros. Aeros keeps a single connected device at a time to prevent duplicates — if a device also pushes to Garmin Connect, pick one path, not both.
Old workouts missing
Aeros imports recent history (about 30 days) at connect time. Third-party apps often only write new workouts to Apple Health from the moment their toggle is enabled.
